There are currently many questions swirling around amongst educators with regards to the new normal and the challenges ahead.
To address these and much more, Meghshala Trust hosted its first live YouTube panel discussion, MakingSense 2021 https://youtu.be/qZG6dILYaHc on August 24th.
The hot topic was the current state of education and the impact of the pandemic but also kept special focus on Meghshala's work in Afzalpur. Woven in were trending issues such as the NEP, ed-tech challenges, and the new normal.
This panel was envisioned to create a common platform to discuss issues that concern most of us as educators and to agree upon practical solutions that can be implemented. As an NGO, Meghshala Trust has relied upon the support of the government and CSRs to carry out our vision of equitable and inclusive education.
The panelists included Nalini Atul, IAS, the Additional Commissioner Public Instructions, Kalburgi division, and Pratima Harite, head of Asia Pacific CSR and Philanthropy at Lenovo Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Lenovo.
Jyoti Thyagarajan, the founder and trustee of Meghshala Trust, led by the moderator, opened the conversation as usual with ease. Alongside Meghshala was Ontum Education Private Limited, the sister organization of Meghshala. Arjun Agarawal the young, dynamic edupreneur and Founder, Director, and CEO of Ontum, along with the other panelists, addressed important questions.
Pratima spoke of Lenovo’s mission of smarter technology for all and highlighted the long association with Meghshala, thanks to the common vision of teacher enablement.
Representing the government, Nalini Atul, mentioned how the government is keen to partner with anyone who has concern for the education sector and that they welcome partners with competencies for the same.
Arjun highlighted the value of good content for distribution, the importance of teachers as mentors and role models, and the need to empower the 9 million teachers in the country through scaleable models.
To find out what common ground they all found to tackle the challenges ahead watch the video! Here is the recording of our live show on YouTube:

"What is a concept? How is that different from a topic? These are all things that we flesh out when we go into a classroom.” - Jyoti

"Ed-tech is not just about digitizing content and training teachers. It has to be an opportunity that is providing unlimited access to both personalized and customized learning." - Pratima

"Tech is great at managing content and distributing content and that’s important. What is equally and if not more important is having good content to distribute." - Arjun

"Collaboration is probably the best way we go ahead. And when we are working with social sectors, we are looking to partner with anyone with a concern for the sector and with their own competencies." - Nalini Atul
